Megan joined EcoAnalysts in 2009 as a laboratory technician and is currently the taxonomy laboratory manager overseeing all projects and laboratory personnel. She ensures that project-specific protocols are followed, deadlines and data deliveries are met, and mitigating issues and conflicts are managed as they arise. Before joining EcoAnalysts, Megan worked at the Lake Superior Research Institute where she conducted field sampling in addition to sorting macroinvertebrate samples. Megan has a background in aquatic biology and has conducted field work in wetlands, streams, and rivers. At EcoAnalysts, she has served as our primary analyst for any invasive veliger projects, managing all veliger samples, meetings with clients, and conference and workshop training. Megan has scanned zooplankton samples for the presence of invasive mussel veligers with and without the use of cross-polarization microscopy. Megan has served as Field Lead for the US Bureau of Reclamation's Western Region Zebra/Quagga mussel study, where her duties include completing logistics, collecting zooplankton samples, using and calibrating YSI meter, operating a tiller motor operated boat, and decontaminating all equipment and boats, according to BOR aquatic invasive species protocols.
